Bavarian State Ministry for Science and the Arts
The Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts funds the Speinshart Scientific Center through institutional support. These funds ensure the non-profit status of the organizing body and enable the promotion of research.

Universität Bayern e. V.
Universität Bayern e. V. was founded in 2003 as a network of all Bavarian universities. Its focus lies in promoting collaboration among Bavarian universities to create excellent conditions for academic work, fostering an intensive and vibrant culture of scientific discourse, and facilitating the transfer of practical university knowledge through dialogue with scientific institutions, funding bodies, and political as well as societal stakeholders in higher education policy.
Since 2024, Universität Bayern has been the main shareholder of the organizing body behind the Speinshart Scientific Center, thereby making all Bavarian universities part of the strong network that supports the SSC in Bavaria.
Hochschule Bayern e. V.
The 19 Bavarian universities of applied sciences are organized within the association “Hochschule Bayern.” This strong network of institutions provides direct connections to politics, society, and the business sector, with which numerous pioneering partnerships have been established.
Since 2024, Hochschule Bayern has been a shareholder of the organizing body behind the Speinshart Scientific Center, enabling not only strong and close ties to the higher education system but also support for applied and industry-oriented research.

Speinshart Monastery
The active monastic community represents living tradition: the Canons Regular of the Premonstratensian Order reside in the historic monastery building and are not only a vital part of the local culture, but also important partners of the Scientific Center. As part of the Center’s activities, the monastery rents out rooms and accommodations to our guests, allowing us to warmly welcome them together in the unique setting of Speinshart.

Municipality of Speinshart
The Municipality of Speinshart supports the scientific center through infrastructure development to create an ideal environment for research activities, as well as through cultural and economic initiatives to strengthen the location in the long term.
Rainer Markgraf Foundation
Established in 2014, the Rainer Markgraf Foundation supports education, science, and research in the Upper Palatinate and Upper Franconia regions.

Speinshart Monastery

Through their membership in the associations Universität Bayern e. V. and Hochschule Bayern e. Hightech Agenda Bavaria
The Hightech Agenda Bavaria (HTA) is a multi-billion-euro investment program launched by the Bavarian State Government in 2019 to strengthen research, innovation, and technology. It aims to position Bavaria as a global leader in science and technology. Key components include:
- Creation of 1,000 new professorships at Bavarian universities
- Investments totaling around €3.5 billion (as of 2024)
- Expansion of AI research through a statewide AI network and dedicated AI centers
- Support for start-ups and technology transfer
- Promotion of key technologies such as quantum computing, clean tech, aerospace, life sciences, etc.
- Digitalization of universities and research infrastructure
The goal is to sustainably strengthen innovation, economic competitiveness, and academic excellence across the region.
